RCC Text Line Launches

LAUNCHING TODAY: RCC’s new survivor textline is live!

The same trusted helpline that’s supported our community for over 50 years is now available by text. Starting August 1, you can text 608-251-7278 to connect with a trained advocate — confidentially, compassionately, and free of judgment.

Available 9AM–5PM & 7PM–7AM, every day.

We know that calling isn’t always possible. That showing up in person can feel out of reach. This textline is for you — for youth, men, LGBTQ+ folks, Black and Brown survivors, and anyone who needs support in a way that feels safe.

This is access. This is care. This is RCC.

An Evening with Amanda Nguyen

Wisconsin Union Directorate Distinguished Lecture Series hosts activist and entrepreneur Amanda Nguyen on Monday, April 7th, 2025, from 7:30pm-9pm for a FREE campus and community lecture. The event will consist of a 1-hour lecture and 30-minute Q&A. The event, titled "An Evening with Amanda Nguyen", will take place in Shannon Hall, Memorial Union. No tickets required!

Amanda Nguyen is the CEO and founder of Rise, a social movement accelerator. She is a 2019 Nobel Peace Prize nominee and star of the Emmy-nominated documentary Rise Above. She penned her own civil rights into existence and unanimously passed the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights, after having to navigate the broken criminal justice system after her own rape. Thirty laws protecting more than 82 million sexual violence survivors have been created modeled off of her federal law. The federal law was the 21st bill in modern US history to pass unanimously on the record.
