Veronica Lewis

CCS Facilitator

Veronica Lewis began her career in Human Services in 1998 when she first became a foster parent. She was a Machinist at the time and felt she needed to go to school to learn how to become a better foster parent to the children she was accepting into her home. She began her education at MATC where she obtained an Associate Degree in Human Services. Veronica quit her job as a Machinist and began working for Health Care for the Homeless as a Housing coordinator. After completing an internship at a Half-Way house for Men coming out of prison her Human Service work continued along with her education. Veronica worked for the Hope House homeless shelter as a case manager. Veronica worked with Hurricane Katrina survivors in Gulfport Mississippi as a Community Outreach Coordinator for the North Gulfport Community Land Trust. She worked for the Milwaukee Mental Health Associates as the IPS Supervisor and CCS case manager; she worked as a community organizer with the Making Connection Project building block clubs while teaching her foster children the importance of civic participation and community involvement. Veronica received a Bachelor’s in Education from UW-Milwaukee in Community Educational Policies and went on to receive her Masters in Counseling Psychology from UW-Platteville. Before coming to RCC she worked as a Disaster Case Manager for Luther Social Services Disaster Response in Louisiana and Texas the last 6 years.
