JOHN FURSTENBERG
President The Omaha Home for Boys Omaha, Nebraska John C. Furstenberg serves as President of The Omaha Home for Boys, an organization in North Omaha dedicated to helping youth and families since 1920. John joined the Home in 1990 after spending 24 years in the banking industry. At Omaha National (now U. S. Bank), John advanced to Vice President in Commercial Banking and Regency Branch Manager. At the Boys’ Home, John has been instrumental in major renovation projects for every building on campus, as well as overseeing five new major construction projects including two new youth cottages. In addition, John has streamlined and solidified the Home’s investment and management procedures while actively seeking broad public awareness for the Home and its mission. John has also led the way for successful partnerships and non-profit coalitions for the Boys’ Home. Under his guidance, the Home has worked with other agencies to establish a residential psychiatric treatment center for boys, a substance abuse treatment center for adolescents, a non-profit leadership association and a non-profit management degree program through the University of Nebraska-Omaha. John is a 30-year Rotarian, a member of the University of Nebraska-Omaha Hall of Fame and an Inspector General Honorary 33° member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
