GREGG DOWTY
Executive Director Good Will-Hinckley Homes for Boys and Girls Hinckley, Maine Gregg Dowty is the Executive Director of Good Will-Hinckley Homes for Boys and Girls in Hinckley, ME. He began his tenure at Good Will in 1993 after serving as a teacher, principal, and elementary supervisor for 20 years in the public schools of SAD 74, Anson, North Anson, Solon, New Portland and Embden. He also served as the Principal of Phillips Elementary school in SAD 58. He holds a bachelor degree from The University of Maine at Farmington, A masters degree in Educational Administration from The University of Southern Maine, a certificate of advanced study from The University of Maine, and is currently a doctoral student in Educational Leadership at the University of Maine. His doctoral work focuses on the role of significant adults in the lives of at-risk youth. Dowty has served in leadership roles with a number of professional organizations at the local, state, and national levels. He has served as the President of the Maine Association of Group Care Providers, President of Maine Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Chair of the SAD 74 School Board of Directors, ASCD International Board of Directors, Chair of the Residential Care Consortium, and he now serves on the strategic planning committee for the Alliance for Children and Families. Dowty is currently the Vice Chair of the Waterville Opera House. He has served as an adjunct faculty member for The University of Maine College of Education and the College of Public Education. He has also facilitated several strategic planning sessions for area organizations including the Waterville Area Boys and Girls Club and YMCA, the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers, and the Skowhegan Public Library.
