Carol Wood has been with Children's Square for 33 years. Carol has held a variety of direct care, supervisory and administrative positions in the child care, foster care, adoptions, group care, residential treatment and family counseling programs. In 1991 she was promoted to Vice President of Professional Services. She was asked to serve as Interim President in 1992. She was named President & CEO in 1993.

Carol is a member of numerous local, state and national organizations serves on the boards of directors of many of them, including the Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce, Coalition for Family and Children's Services in Iowa and the Alliance for Children and Families, which is an organization that represents nonprofit child and family agencies nationwide. She was recently named the Secretary of the Alliance Board. Carol is also serving on her second term on Iowa’s Criminal Juvenile Justice Planning Advisory Council. She was appointed to this position by Iowa Governor Tom Vilsak.
